The  Institute of Clinical Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine offers  Master of Science in Oriental Medicine degree program accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ACAOM). Graduates are qualified to sit for the Hawaii State Board of Acupuncture's licensing examination, as well  (NCCAOM) Located in China Town, Honolulu.


The Institute of Clinical Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ICAOM) is located in the State of Hawaii, on the island of Oahu, which in Hawaiian means "the Gathering Place." For those who enjoy outdoor activities, Hawaii has much to offer, from some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, with world class surfing spots, to lush, green mountains and tropical rain forests. The weather in Hawaii is moderate year round, with sunshine almost every day. It is no wonder they call this place "paradise." The school itself is located in the heart of the city of Honolulu, and is close to many rich cultural areas, such as Chinatown.


The Master of Science in Oriental Medicine degree program of the Institute of Clinical Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ACAOM), which is the recognized accrediting agency for the approval of programs preparing acupuncture and Oriental Medicine practitioners.

Graduates from ICAOM are qualified to sit for the Hawaii State Board of Acupuncture's licensing examination, as well as the National Board exam of the National Commission for the Certification of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).

Mission
The Institute of Clinical Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine dedicates itself to educational, clinical, and professional excellence, fostering the development of competent and skillful Oriental Medical practitioners, and promoting acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in the local and global communities.

Objectives

Our graduates will understand the principles, philosophies, and methods of Oriental Medicine, and be experienced in providing health care services to the community.
Our graduates will be knowledgeable about Biomedicine, and other healing arts, and be able to make informed and appropriate referrals.
Our graduates will meet the educational requirements to qualify for both National Board Certification and professional licensing in the State of Hawaii.
Our Institute will strive to advance our faculty's knowledge and skills, thereby creating leaders in the field who share their wisdom with our students.
Our administrative staff will be committed to the stability and advancement of the Institute, while serving its members.


Beyond the four year Master's level program, the ICAOM is committed to the development of the acupuncture and Oriental Medicine profession in the United States. The ICAOM promotes the highest standards of professional performance, participating in the demonstration of the efficacy of acupuncture and Oriental Medicine at health and public events, providing quality health care at low cost to the community, and supporting the development of national and state standards in acupuncture and Oriental Medicine education, accreditation, and licensure.
