The Naturopathic Philosophy & Its Principles Naturopathic physicians work with the Healing Power of Nature to restore and support the inherent recuperative systems in the body when, or before they have broken down. Using natural medicines, and techniques that are in harmony with natural processes; health is restored.

First do not harm. Non-invasive treatments are preferred to minimize the risks of harmful side-effects.

Find the cause. Every illness has an underlying cause; often in aspects of the lifestyle, diet or habits of the individual. A Naturopathic Physician is trained to find and treat the underlying cause an illness or disharmony within the body and/or mind. Health or disease comes from a complex interaction of physical, emotional, dietary, genetic, environmental, lifestyle and other factors.

Naturopathic Physicians treat the whole person, taking these factors into account. Preventive Medicine. The Naturopathic approach to health care can prevent minor illnesses from developing into more serious or chronic degenerative diseases. Dr. Ostroff received her Bachelor of Arts degrees in Psychology and Physical Education from the University of Oregon and the University of Delaware. She went on to complete her pre-Medical sciences from the National College of Naturopathic Medicine, an accredited, four-year medical program in Portland, Oregon, receiving honors.

What is Naturopathic Medicine?
Your optimum health is the goal of Naturopathic Medicine. The least invasive treatments that will best assist your body to return to its desired state of health are used. The Doctor works with you, to discover the underlying cause of your condition. Alternatives are discussed and treatment plans are developed based on your individual needs.
