10 years ago, we started www.HawaiiHealthGuide.com with the intention of gathering all the resources for healthy living in Hawaii in one online portal. Our goal was to make it easy for people to connect with each other, find out what's going on, and to help grow businesses that were good for Hawaii's people, culture, environment and health.
Time flies when you're having fun, and since then we've been supporting health, wellness, and green business throughout the state. Today, over 3,000 awesome businesses in Hawaii are actively listing their services, products, skills and talents on the Health Guide and over 4,000 people a day look at the site to find them.
In the past 10 years we've:
- Awarded 10 health scholarships to Hawaii's future health practitioners to study in Hawaii
- Written and distributed over $250,000 of dollars of grants directly infused into our community,
- Produced and sponsored 15 Green Healing Garden Festivals, Health Expos, Film Festivals and Health Symposiums featuring local businesses, foods, products and most importantly knowledge about health.
- Sent zillions of zippy e-nets out to let you know what is happening on your island, and across the state.
- Promoted the many cultural, health, educational festivals and events across the island chain.
- Worked with small businesses to grow dreams, legislature's to keep our ag lands viable for food sustainability for our community, protecting the 'aina and our kapuna honoring the traditions of wisdom
- Made the largest and best on-line directory for Health and Wellness in Hawaii, still growing!
- Represented Hawaii's healthy multi-cultural healhty lifestyle at conferences and expos
We are also in two languages now, English and Japanese.
We're both awed and humbled by the growing popularity of mulit-cultural and integrative approaches to health and the trend towards sustainability.
