The Hawaii Healing Garden Statewide Festival honors the traditional healing arts of Hawaii's  multi-cultural heritage. The festival celebrates traditional uses of medicinal plants and cultural practices for improved health & vitality.

Hawaii's residents and visitors, professional health practitioners and novices alike are invited to attend the festival on Kauai, Oahu, Maui or Big Island, and take the opportunity to learn more about Hawaii's unique healing arts practices, culinary arts, and farming and gardening through workshops, classes and tours across the state.

On Wednesday August 27 7:30-9:30pm The public is invited to a unique opportunity to explore Seifukujitsu Traditional Healing Massage and Oils at the historic DaiJingu Temple in Nu'uanu Valley. Martial arts students are encouraged to come and learn more about the healing aspects of the martial arts.

This class is taught by Herb LaGue, visiting Sr. Professor of the Bushidokan Temple, and third generation student of  Seishiro "Henry" Okazaki.

This Japanese Art of Restorative Massage is one of the most highly regarded aspects of DanZan Ryu JuJitsu and traces its heritage to  Professor Seishiro Okazaki of the Honolulu KoDenKan, a master martial artist and master healer well known in Hawaiian lore.  Seifukujutsu combines classic Japanese Massage, Hawai’ian Lomilomi, Acupressure, Tsubo  and Swedish massage techniques.

The advanced levels of this healing system include Kappo and Katsu  - important joint and bone setting and revival techniques learned. The traditional lotions and poultices used in this system were adapted for modern use and based on local and traditional herbs for faster healing.
Professor Okazaki perfected the restorative and healing arts associated with DanZan Ryu, and was retained as a Massage Therapist for Pres. F.D. Roosevelt when he  visited Hawaii as well as Gov. Burns family.  His work with Polio was well known.
