Hawaii Health Guide is pleased to announce the 2007 Hawaii Health Guide Health & Wellness Scholarship award recipients:
The Hawaii Health Guide Health & Wellness Education Scholarship award fund is available to all Hawaii students regardless of age. High school students and people pursuing a mid life change of career are equally welcome to apply. Funds are directly applicable to tuition costs at an established school or CEU accredited workshop, or cultural practice through the lineage of a recognized kumu/apprentice healing tradition.
The following three students were selected from a wide pool of applicants in 2007. Congatulations to:
Joy BlaisKauai/Big Island: The Traditional Chinese Medical College of Hawaii- special interest in chronic pain. Joy has co-hosted Health Talk Radio on KKCR, and has 6 years experience managing a holistic veterinary hospital on Kauai.
Iris Nagamine Oahu: UH Manoa Medical School with a focus on Geriatrics. Iris is fluent in Japanese, and was also the recipient of a Regents Scholarship.
Erin Matsuda Oahu: UH-Manoa, Masters of Science - Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. Experience with Emergency Nursing. Erin enjoys the "nursing perspective of treating a person as a whole"
We sincerely wish you success in your chosen fields of study and look forward to bright future careers in Health & Wellness in Hawaii.

Amount of annual cholarship fund distrubtion is determined by fund raising results. Total funds for 2007 = $1,000.
